GDLife Media (“we”, “us”) operates gdlifemedia.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
GDLife Media is a web development and SEO practice based in Essex, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about anything in this policy at [email protected].
What we collect and why
Enquiry and audit request forms
When you send us an enquiry through a form on this site, we collect the details you provide: your name, business name, email address, phone number, website address, and your message. We use these to respond to your enquiry, prepare any audit or quote you have asked for, and follow up about our services. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you have chosen to send us, and taking steps you have requested before entering into a contract.
Form submissions are stored securely in this website’s database and sent to us by email. We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any business relationship that follows, after which they are deleted.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use this site: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what device and browser they use. This information is aggregated and does not directly identify you. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors; see the cookies section below. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving how the site performs.
Server logs
Our hosting infrastructure keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security monitoring and troubleshooting. Logs are retained for a short period and then deleted.
Cookies
This site does not use cookies for advertising. Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without affecting your use of this site, or opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google’s browser add-on.
Who we share data with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that keep this site running: our hosting provider (servers located in the EU), our email provider, and Google (for analytics). Where data is processed outside the UK or EEA, it is protected by recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and any material changes will be reflected on this page.
